...A family dispute that occurred in the Kaga domain in the mid-18th century. Also known as the Otsuki Disturbance. It involved the incident in which Otsuki Denzo, a favorite of the sixth domain lord, Maeda Yoshinori, was impeached by the conservative faction and fell from grace, and committed suicide in exile, as well as the incident in which Yoshinori's concubine, Shinnyoin (Osada), and her sons were imprisoned and died in connection with the poisoning of a tea kettle at the domain's Edo residence.
