...Ooku is divided into three parts: Goten-mukae, Ohiroshiki-mukae, and Nagatsubo-mukae. Goten-mukae is where the master of Ooku, that is, the Midori-kon in Honmaru, or the Omidori-kon or the wife of the Shogun's heir, and their children live. Ohiroshiki-mukae is the Ooku management office and where the male Ohiroshiki officials work. Nagatsubo-mukae is where the maids who work in Ooku, so-called Ooku maids, live. The Shogun's daily living area is Nakaoku in the front, but Nakaoku and Ooku are separated by a heavy wall and connected only by a corridor called Gosuzu-rokaku, and no men other than the Shogun could enter the Ooku side through the Gojoguchi, which was set up at the border between Gosuzu-rokaku and Nakaoku....
