There are three types: the Enryaku Koukai Shiki, the Jogan Koukai Shiki, and the Engiki Koukai Shiki, all of which were compiled by the Kageyushi. In the Nara period, when a kokushi (local official) was replaced, a kind of accounting audit was conducted when the new kokushi took over the affairs of the previous kokushi, and the previous kokushi was given a certificate of audit, called a Geyu, before returning to the capital. …
