Ennosuke Ichikawa (II)

Born: May 10, 1888.
[Died] June 12, 1963. Tokyo Kabuki actor. Stage name Omodakaya. Eldest son of Ichikawa Ennosuke I. Real name Kinoshi Masayasu. Traveled abroad in 1919 and established the Shunjuza theater company, which performed Kikuchi Kan's "Father Returns" and the original dance "Mushi," and was always active at the forefront of the Kabuki world. In his later years, he changed his name to En'on and became a leading figure in the theater world after World War II.

歌舞伎俳優。屋号澤瀉 (おもだか) 屋。1世市川猿之助の長男。本名喜熨斗 (きのし) 政泰。 1919年外遊して春秋座を興し，菊池寛作『父帰る』や創作舞踊『虫』などを上演，常に歌舞伎界の第一線で活躍した。晩年は猿翁と改名し第2次世界大戦後劇壇の重鎮となった。
