Japanese: 福光[町] - ふくみつ

A former town in Nishitonami County in western Toyama Prefecture. It occupies the southern part of the Tonami Plain and the mountainous area behind it, with rice fields in the Oyabe River basin. Dried persimmons are a specialty of the town. Aluminum and plastic-related companies have established operations here. The Johana Line runs through the town. In November 2004, it merged with Johana Town, Taira Village, Kamitaira Village, Toga Village, Inami Town, Iguchi Village, and Fukuno Town in Higashitonami County to become a city, Nanto City. Area: 168.05 ^km2 . Population: 20,416 (2003).
