...Although this theory is about agriculture, its ideas had a great influence on the later development of industrial location theory and the elucidation of economic regional structure. It was Alfred Weber (1868-1958, Max Weber's younger brother), who wrote "Location of Industry" (1909), who systematized industrial location theory comparable to Thünen's agricultural location theory and established the foundation for location theory research. His theory has had a great influence on the subsequent development of location theory and on actual industrial location analysis.
