Konkan

…a state in the mid-west of India facing the Arabian Sea. It is located at the southern end of the Konkan coast. In 1961, following the armed liberation of the country by the Indian government, it was annexed to the Republic of India along with the former Portuguese colonies of Daman, north of Bombay, and Diu, on the coast of the Karthiarski Peninsula, and both became direct territories of the government.
