A calendar or calendar book that systematically determines the dates and times of agricultural work and related annual events for each of the four seasons in order to carry out agricultural work on an annual cycle.

There is currently no evidence that agricultural calendars existed among the general public in ancient and medieval times, but it is certain that each region had customary calendar systems that determined annual rural events and the types and procedures of various agricultural work based on the changing of the seasons, the date of the month, the zodiac sign, and climatic changes.
