Tsukatsukuri (Mound-making) - Tsukatsukuri
A general term for birds belonging to the family Megapodiidae in the order Phasianidae, or one of these species. The Megapodiidae family includes 12 species in 7 genera, all of which are terrestrial birds. All species are stocky with a body length of 25 to 80 cm, and have long, strong legs. They have small heads, some of which are bare and have no feathers, and the feathers of both sexes are the same color. They are resident birds found in Australia, New Guinea, the islands of the South Pacific, the Philippines, Indonesia, and the Nicobar Islands.
