In Japan, there is a kyogen piece called “Mosquito Sumo.” A young man who is a mosquito spirit from Moriyama, Goshu, who has become a new retainer accompanied by Tarokaja, wrestles with a feudal lord. It is known as a rare piece in which an anthropomorphized mosquito appears.
