Hemerocallis arbutifolia

A perennial plant of the lily family (APG classification: Xanthomoniaceae). Native to China, it is a variant of the nocturnal Hemerocallis nigricans and Hemerocallis nigricans, but unlike Hemerocallis nigricans, it blooms nocturnally and in the daytime, producing bright yellow flowers. The inflorescence reaches 20 cm in length and is highly branched. The flower tube is 2-3 cm long, and the perianth pieces are 6-8 cm long. It grows in colonies in the somewhat dry grasslands of the coastal sand dunes of eastern and southern Hokkaido.

ユリ科（APG分類：ススキノキ科）の多年草。中国原産で夜咲きのホソバキスゲやキスゲの変種で、キスゲとは異なり夜昼咲きで、明るい黄色の花をつける。花序は長さ20センチメートルに達し、よく枝分れする。花筒は2～3センチメートル、花被片(かひへん)は長さ6～8センチメートル。北海道東部と南部の海岸砂丘のやや乾いた草原に群生する。
