Katayamazu Tamazukuri ruins

Japanese: 片山津玉造遺跡 - かたやまづたまつくりいせき

A general term for the 4th century Tamatsukuri ruins scattered across the Uwano Plateau in Katayamazu Town, Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture. The Uwano and Joyama ruins have been confirmed. The Kaga City Board of Education excavated the Uwano ruins in 1959 and 1961, uncovering the remains of 38 pit dwellings. The dwellings are square with rounded corners, measuring 5 to 9 meters on each side. In the floor, there are pillar holes, hearth remains, and small holes presumably used for attacking. Tamatsukuri-related artifacts include raw materials, unfinished products, finished products, whetstones, hammering stones, and iron tools. The raw material is mainly green tuff, with small amounts of hard jade and quartz mixed in.

石川県加賀市片山津町の上野（うわの）台地上に点在する4世紀の玉造遺跡群の総称。上野遺跡，成山（じようやま）遺跡が確認されている。1959,61の両年に加賀市教育委員会が上野遺跡を発掘し，38戸の竪穴住居址を検出した。住居址は隅丸方形を呈し，1辺5～9mをはかる。床面には，柱穴や炉址とともに，攻玉用と推定される小穴をみる。玉造関係の遺物として，原材，未成品，完成品，砥石，叩石，鉄工具がある。原材は主として緑色凝灰岩であり，わずかに硬玉，水晶が混じる。
