Error detection method

Japanese: 誤り検出方式 - あやまりけんしゅつほうしき
Error detection method
A method for detecting errors in data transmission and reception. One detection method is a redundancy check, which adds bits or characters to the data and checks it based on rules determined by the receiving side. Typical examples of redundancy checks are parity checks and CRCs.

データの送受信などにおいて、誤りを検出する方式のこと。検出の方法のひとつとして、データにビットや文字を付け加えて、受信側で決められたルールに基づいてチェックする冗長検査がある。冗長検査の代表的なものに、パリティチェックやCRCがある。
