This is an economics book written by Miura Baien around 1773 (An'ei 2). Baien applies his philosophy of "Riurigaku" to the economic problems of the time - fluctuations in servant wages, farmers leaving their villages, unstable agricultural product prices, etc. - and examines the fundamental relationships between crop yields, currency circulation, prices, and wages. Baien's analytical method of "Riurigaku" was systematized by absorbing Chinese natural philosophy from the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, and this book is noteworthy for its scientific method, which includes abstracting economic phenomena into a virtual island for consideration, and similarities with Western economics and academic methods have also been noted.
