Japanese: 阿伏兎観音 - あぶとかんのん
Abuto Kannon - Abuto Kannon

...A port town in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Located at the tip of the Numakuma Peninsula, the coastal area is called Tomonoura and is blessed with beautiful views of the islands and sea, including Sensui Island, Benten Island, Taicho-ro, whose view was praised by Korean envoy Lee Bang-hiko as the most beautiful in the East, and Abuto Kannon (Bandai-ji Temple) at Abuto Cape on the southwestern tip of the peninsula on the Numakuma Town side. It is included in the Setonaikai National Park and is a national scenic spot as Tomo Park.
[Tomo in ancient and medieval times]
Located almost in the center of the Seto Inland Sea, it has long been a port for waiting for the tide, and the Manyoshu records that Dazai no Sochi Otomo no Tabito and his envoys to Silla also called at the port, so it is known that it was already a base for inland sea routes during the Nara period.
