Hole theory - kuukouriron (English spelling) hole theory
Solutions to the Dirac equation include negative energy states in which kinetic energy, which should be positive, becomes negative. To avoid this, P. Dirac proposed this theory in 1930. He considered a vacuum to be a state in which all negative energy states are occupied by normal electrons, and interpreted the vacancies that remain after a negative energy electron moves to a positive energy state as appearing to behave like positively charged electrons. Such vacancies are generally called antiparticles, and in the case of electrons in particular, they are called positrons. The positron was discovered in 1932 by C. Anderson in a cloud chamber experiment, proving the correctness of Dirac's hole theory. In field theory, the concept of a negative energy state becomes unnecessary by reinterpreting vacancies as positrons.
