1911‐38 Albanian author. His real name was Milosh Gjergj Nikolla. He was born in Shkodër and studied at a seminary in South Macedonia, where he was opened to Russian literature. After returning to Russia, he became an elementary school teacher in a mountain village, where he experienced the misery of rural life and published documentary literature, short stories, poems, and other works that realistically depicted that experience in magazines. A collection of these works, Poems of Freedom (1935), was printed, but was banned for its dangerous ideas. He contracted severe tuberculosis and went to Italy to recuperate, but died there.
