Mount Hobashira

Japanese: 帆柱山 - ほばしらやま

This mountain is located in Yahata Nishi Ward, Kitakyushu City, northeastern Fukuoka Prefecture. It is 488 meters above sea level. It is said that the name of the mountain comes from the fact that mast materials were cut from this mountain when Empress Jingu dispatched troops to Korea. It is part of the Kitakyushu Quasi-National Park along with Mt. Sarakura to the east. The view of the Kitakyushu industrial region from the summit is wonderful. A cable car runs from the northern foot of the mountain to the summit.

福岡県北東部，北九州市八幡西区にある山。標高 488m。神功皇后の朝鮮出兵のとき，この山から帆柱材を切り出したのが山名の由来と伝えられ，東隣の皿倉山などとともに北九州国定公園に属する。頂上からの北九州工業地域の展望がすばらしい。頂上までは北麓からケーブルカーが通じる。
