[1] [noun] A temple founded and operated according to the teachings of Mahayana Buddhism. *Yamaga Gakusei Shiki (818-819) " _One Ikkou Daijoji Temple, with _two Manjusri Bodhisattvas as _{the two} upper seats _" [2][1] A Soto Zen temple in Nagasaka-cho, Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture. The mountain name is Tokyou -san . It was founded in 1263 by Togashi Ienari, the guardian of Kaga Province. The founder was Sumikai . It was visited by Ashikaga Takauji and others. In 1517, it became a place of imperial prayer for Emperor Go-Kashiwabara, and was given the title Tokyou-san Daijo Gokoku Zenji. [2] A Koyasan Shingon temple in Kami-cho, Mikata-gun, Hyōgo Prefecture. The mountain name is Kamei-san. It is said to have been founded by Gyoki in 745 . During the Kansei era ( 1789-1801 ), Mito-Ei was revived. Maruyama Okyo, who had received support from Mito-Ei in the past, came to live here with his disciples and painted 165 sliding doors and folding screens . The temple is commonly called Okyo-ji Temple.

[1] 〘名〙大乗の教法により創建・運営される寺院。※山家学生式（818‐819）「一者一向大乗寺置_二文殊師利菩薩_一、以為_二上座_一」[2][一] 石川県金沢市長坂町にある曹洞宗の寺。山号は東香(とうきょう)山。弘長三年（一二六三）加賀国の守護富樫家尚が創建。開山は澄海。足利尊氏などの帰依(きえ)をうけた。永正一四年（一五一七）後柏原天皇の勅願所となり、東香山大乗護国禅寺の号を贈られた。[二] 兵庫県美方郡香美町にある高野山真言宗の寺。山号は亀居山。天平一七年（七四五）行基(ぎょうき)の草創と伝えられる。寛政年間（一七八九‐一八〇一）密英が再興。密英に援助を受けたことのある円山応挙が弟子たちとともに来住し襖絵(ふすまえ)・屏風(びょうぶ)など一六五面を描いた。俗に応挙寺と呼ばれる。
