A town in Koyu County in central Miyazaki Prefecture. It occupies the left bank of the Hitotsuse River estuary and faces the Hyuga-Nada Sea. The Nippō Main Line runs through the town. Forcing cultivation of cucumbers and other crops, and rice are cultivated. In the west lies the alluvial plateau Nyutabaru, where there are many ancient tombs and an Air Self-Defense Force base. Yunomiya's Zaronbai Plum Trees (a natural monument) are a famous plum blossom spot. 61.53 km2 .
