King of the Satavahana dynasty of ancient India (reigned c. 100-130). He defeated the Shakya tribe in the western Deccan, restored the glory of the dynasty, established a ruling system, and laid the foundation for unifying the Deccan. During this period, the Brahmin culture of the Deccan took root and Buddhism flourished.
