Koto music. Composed by Ichiura Kengyo. This is a jiuta tanuta (traditional Japanese folk song) piece "Banzai" composed by Joshiga at the end of the 18th century, with Dutch-style koto parts added, inspired by music boxes introduced from the Netherlands. This is an important piece that is said to be the forerunner of the so-called "kaete" style koto music (kaete). There is another version of "Banzai" itself with the koto parts attached directly, and there is also a sangen kaete composed by Kikuoka Kengyo, and an ensemble that combines all of these is also performed.
